Back in Glastila’s shop, after Emerirok and she reappeared in the room in the upper chamber, Glastila made sure Radella was comfortable on the bed, and then she stepped away. She looked at her husband. “There’s someone I need to meet with. It shouldn’t take too long, but it needs to be done. Can you keep Radella stable for the time being?”

Emerirok nodded and hugged his wife. “Are you going to another dimension of time?”

Glastila shook her head as she hugged him back. “No. It’s here in this dimension. Just...someone I need to talk to.”

“I understand. Be safe.” Emerirok stepped away and went to the chair beside the bed to sit down. He looked up at Glastila and gave her an encouraging smile. “All will be well in your absence. Don’t worry.”

Glastila smiled a little too. “I need to go downstairs first. Elf arrived a little while ago. Keep him preoccupied? You know how he likes to possess stuff when he's bored.”

“I’ll see what I can do, but tell him I’m busy and prefer not to be disturbed.” Emerirok nodded to her. “You may want to lock up the shop while you’re downstairs. Otherwise, Elf may startle away any customers.”

“Good idea.” Glastila kissed Emerirok’s cheek. “I’ll be right back.”

“Love you too.” Emerirok watched her go.
